Brick Wall Build in Sydenham

I had recently completed a brick wall for a friend of theirs, so it was good to be trusted again based on that experience. After getting in touch, I arranged a visit to the property in Sydenham to take a look at what remained of the original wall.

While discussing options with the customer, I suggested using a traditional yellow stock brick to match the surrounding properties in the Sydenham area. Sydenham, like much of South London, features a lot of period homes built with this style of brick, so it made sense to keep everything in keeping with the local character.

For this project, I recommended the Smeed Dean London Stock bricks. These bricks are a great choice for this type of work as they closely replicate the classic London stock brick used across Sydenham for decades. They have a warm yellow/buff tone with subtle variations and darker flecks, giving them that authentic, traditional look.

Another reason I suggested these bricks is their versatility. They’re widely used for both restoration work and new builds because they blend seamlessly with older brickwork, making them ideal for projects like boundary walls. On top of that, they’re a durable, high-quality clay brick, so they’re built to last as well as look the part.

Overall, this approach ensured the finished wall not only looked right for the Sydenham area but also added long-term value and durability for the customer.
