We are building four detached houses in Plumstead, doing all the brickwork and blockwork.
The bricks we are using are like a traditional London yellow stock brick, the internal blockwork is 100 mm thermalite blocks , the dividing party wall are 100 mm heavy concrete blocks laid flat.
The insulation we are using is 75 mm partial fill insulation this attaches to the inside skin of our wall, meaning the internal blockwork gets built first so we can fix the insulation to the internal skin.
The insulation is keep tight to the inside blockwork with wall ties which are spaced 450 mm vertical and 650 mm horizontal . The size of the insulation slabs are 1200 mm long X 450 mm high . Once the insulation is put between the wall ties this is then kept in place by insulation retaining discs, commonly call buttons on site.
